One of the “black holes” in the industrial ‘church’ where money vanishes never to be seen again is the mysterious “church-building fund.”
It’s not unheard of for professing Christians to donate money to a “church-building fund” for years, even decades, and the building still isn’t paid off and the project never comes to fruition.
Take GOD TV for example.
You could say that GOD TV is the European version of TBN (the Trinity Broadcasting Network), with all of the usual shady suspects, ear-itching false teachings, and financial scams.
It was co-founded by Rory Alec and Wendy Alec in England and first launched in 1995 as “the Christian Channel Europe.”
The Christian Channel Europe eventually rebranded as the God Channel in 1997, then God Digital, and later as GOD TV in 2002.
It is currently headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, Plymouth, England, and Jerusalem, Israel.
On October 2, 2014, GOD TV announced that Rory Alec resigned due to a “moral failure.” Wendy Alec is now the network’s President and CEO.

The GOD TV Revival Prayer Centre In Plymouth, England
The Wikipedia entry for GOD TV states that “GOD TV is building a Revival Prayer Centre in Plymouth, England which is set to be open to the public in 2015.”
On January 7, 2014, UK newspaper The Herald reported that “GOD TV recently secured a 25-year lease on the Millennium Complex in Union Street, Plymouth, which is now being transformed into the GOD TV Revival Prayer Centre. The building has already been gutted and major structural renovations can now take place after planning permission from the Plymouth Council has been granted.
“We’re inspired by the regeneration happening in Plymouth, and God has given us the ideal building to serve both the local community and our global audience,” said Rory Alec, who is GOD TV’s CEO. “We now want our viewers to share in the consecration of the building, setting it apart for God’s purposes, before structural work commences.”
“GOD TV is known for its revival broadcasts including The Bay Revival from the USA and the Healing Awakening LIVE to the Nations from South Africa,” said Wendy Alec, who is GOD TV’s Director of Television. “We hope to feature established and emerging speakers in Plymouth, who will stir up believers, challenging them to fulfill their God-given calling and reach out to their family and friends to bring the life-transforming power of the Gospel to their community.”
The building, which was once a nightclub, will cost between £5-7 million to convert into a 1,400-seater conference venue.
